Verbaloom is a browser-based grammar and spelling checker. This policy explains what happens when you use it.

Text you enter

The text you type or paste is saved in your own browser's local storage so you can return to a draft. Verbaloom does not operate a dedicated server-side account or draft database. You can clear the saved draft by clicking Clear in the editor, or by clearing this site's browser storage.

Online grammar checking

When you click Check my writing with online checking enabled, the text and selected language are sent over HTTPS to LanguageTool, a third-party service, to generate correction suggestions. LanguageTool processes your request under its own privacy policy. Please do not submit passwords, confidential materials, or sensitive personal information to an online checker.

Local English checking

When you enable Local English checks only, a limited set of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style rules runs in your browser; Verbaloom does not submit your text to LanguageTool for that check. This is a basic fallback, not a comprehensive proofreading engine.

Advertising and cookies

This website includes Google AdSense code. If advertising is active, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads, measure performance, and provide advertising-related services. Where legally required, any necessary consent controls must be configured by the site operator before personalized advertising is enabled.

Technical information

Your hosting provider, the LanguageTool service, and advertising providers may process technical request information such as IP addresses and browser data according to their own policies. This site does not intentionally collect user accounts or use custom analytics scripts.

Changes

This policy may be updated if the site's features, hosting arrangements, or advertising setup change. The latest version will be posted on this page.
